How to Dress 'Elegant'??

Assalamu alaykum,

Since naming our venture 'Elegant Outfits' we have always been quite curious about how one is to dress 'Elegant', we use the term commonly to describe clothing, our taste/style and generally anything to do the aesthetics of any object.

So, we decided we will do a little research on how we can dress 'elegant' (Disclaimer: We are by no means saying that 'We are elegant-est of them all')

So, after our extensive research and hours of hard work and dedication, we found there was some very stringent criteria to qualify as being 'elegant'.

We hereby bring you the list below, which will help you maintain 'sheer elegance in your life' (posh accent). Ladies, hold fast to these rules and tie it to your dupatta/hijab (anyone heard the asian version of that. lol) for in life you will always need a little bit elegance.

That brings us on to our findings, incorporate the following on your special occasion to look Elegant and Classy:

* Always use subtle makeup- Take some time out and pop down to your local makeup counter and have your makeup shade matched to your skin colour. Use makeup that is good quality, not the kind that sits on the surface your skin or creases in your skin (search for makeup that compliments you skin type),

* Less is more- When shopping for clothing concentrate on quality rather quantity, however cliche this may sound it is true as generally cheaper clothing means cheaper quality fabric. (Cheaper fabric has a tendency to shrink markedly when washed and patterns may become skewed and not properly aligned.

* Focus on fit, quality and classic appeal, so that these pieces can be used over and over through the years.

* Handbags and shoes- Select well made classic hand bags and foot wear in neutral colours. Black is always a safe option, but beige, browns and neutral metallic also work really well to achieve the 'elegant' look. Try to find a pair of comfortable heels to coordinate with the rest of your wardrobe, nothing dresses an outfit up more than a pair of heels (IMHO).

* Wear very Classic Jewelry- When shopping for jewelry search for beautiful classic pieces, pearl earrings, dinky necklaces and bracelets.

* Practice your posture- Good posture adds to a well-put-together look, as well portraying a more confident image there are a myriad of reasons for why we should be more conscious of this. Some of which are, your breathing becomes easier, this helps muscles and joint alignment, healthy spine and finally it can help your frame of mind from being depressed to feeling uplifted and positive (Ta-chi, Yoga use techniques that focus on the posture to help he body and the mind).

* Be yourself- Let your personality and character shine and and do not try to be something that you are not to prove to people you are 'elegant'. This is the real deal! In other words, if non of the above mentioned things fit well with you then don't do them!

As long as you are happy and confident in what you do, that's what makes you a real Elegant and Classy women.
